Cornwall Film Festival 2008 Launches new international short film award with cash prize of £1000
This year’s Cornwall Film Festival sees the launch the ANOTHER COUNTRY International Short Film Award which will bring interesting and diverse filmmaking from the world’s towns and rural areas to Cornwall.
Paul Inman, Director of Media at University College Falmouth commented, “we are sponsoring this international award because we feel it’s important that filmmakers operating outside the neon glare of the world’s major cities are encouraged to bring their voices centre-stage’.
Shortlisted films will be screened in several communities across Cornwall, where audiences will be able to vote for their favourite films. A final shortlist will be screened at the 2008 Cornwall Film Festival and the winner decided on the night.
The overall winner will receive a £1000 cash prize.
