Cornwall Film Festival, in partnership with Creative Partnerships, is pleased to announce the launch of Screen Actions 06, the Young People’s Film Festival, organised for young people by young people and we want your films to feature in this year’s event. Taking place on 16th and 17th November at the Princess Pavilion, Falmouth, Screen Actions 06 promises to be the biggest and best Young People’s Film Festival in Cornwall to date. <div>We are inviting young people of all ages to become part of Screen Actions 06 and enter their films for screening at this year’s event. Application forms and information can be found on the festival website by visiting www.cornwallfilmfestival.com.</div>

<div>Screen Actions 06 is an umbrella event of the 2006 Cornwall Film Festival. Young people from across Cornwall have joined together and for the first time in the festival’s history are entirely responsible for organising this year’s event.</div>

  • Bude Haven School are filming and editing a documentary about the organisation of Screen Actions 06, as well as editing a trailer for this year’s event.

  • Falmouth Film Club are heading the main steering group and will be ensuring all the structures are in place for this years festival.

  • Mullion School, which has formed its own marketing company called “Step Forward” is managing all the PR and marketing for this year’s event.

  • Members of Trelya will be co-ordinating the programme and back stage management at the Princess Pavilion.

  • Members of Restormal Youth Forum will be planning the Screen Actions Festival Party.

    <div>The committee is headed up by Festival Director Luke Martin, aged 17. Laura Hardman, Director of the Cornwall Film Festival, said: “We are so excited to be working with these young people on Screen Actions 06, they all have such enthusiasm and commitment to film and film making. They are bringing fresh ideas and new perspectives about what young people want to get out of the film industry in Cornwall. It is enabling Cornwall Film Festival to be as accessible and inclusive to children in Cornwall as possible.</div>

    <div>The programme for Screen Actions 06 will include two days of practical hands on workshops covering all elements of film and film making and aimed at all skill and age levels, as well as screenings of films entered into the Young People’s Film Festival and a feature screening and festival party on the Thursday night (film yet to be confirmed). Funders of Screen Actions 06 include the Big Lottery Fund and Creative Partnerships.</div>
